- Staff departments have been created using communities.
- Subjects in years have been created as courses.
- Both members and leaders are populated through using links to the schools groups folder.
This means that when accounts are created and the staff entries placed in the departments group structure they will login and see the list of relevant courses and communities to them already set up. The student links in the courses point back to a group called years. This is where the current year 7 is defined by in turn linking to the pupils/year2005 folder. This design means that to update all the courses at the change of the year to point to the new intakes you only have to redefine the year groups. (4 changes instead of 200) |
Schools can go further and define form classes within the year groups or within the course memberships but from experience it can be an unnecessary level of complication. Teachers that are confident with the system often create their own custom groups in their personal group folder. This is not intended to be a complete solution but a basic starting point that is to be individualised to each school's requirements. Just select and copy the groups folder and the web folder and paste them into your school portal. View structure
